Today we were taken on a tour of the Long Beach Harbor and Port. We were also told more about
the history of the port and its impact on the Los Angeles/Long Beach Area. A wonderful presentation by the Port folks was given and then we were off on our adventure. We boarded a lovely vessel, were given complimentary chapstick, magnets/clips, brochures, and then escorted to our seats. The tour began and my camera was ready! We went all around the harbor, in all of the nooks and crannies, under the Gerald Desmond Bridge, over to the Heim Bridge and then back to Shoreline Village. So much fun and hard to believe that this is a class that I get to participate in, get paid for, and just enjoy the historical aspects as well! I even won a class set of pencils from the port! Not a big deal to most, but anything free for me, is a treat! One less bunch of pencils I have to purchase!

I want to go on your learning field trips! Love the pictures, and congrats on the pencils.
How fun! We should have taken advantage of more things like that while we were there!!
